Side, I agree it doesn't stand up well to clubs that are in the Champions each season, but think a few years back before Moyes? We have progressed and I really do enjoy being in these less important European competitions. What the hell yes Man Cities run is more impressive, but we're doing stuff as well and why not have a little chuckle and shout it out WE ARE MASSIVE!
What fuck is going on if you can't do that on WHO.

All it creates is a little chuckle Mex, that we think we have a mentionable record….when it’s basically like bragging we’ve won the FL Champioship and got promotion to established PL clubs…..it’s the type of shit that keeps Moyes in a job….

Mex, Man City’s run was in the Champions League….you have to ask why you want to hold on to such non sense….we’ve never got near to even being in it….let alone actually being Champions…

87% of goals are scored inside the box.

I think the players need to spend a whole training session on shooting from long range. We work the ball out wide and then inside very well. It often creates space for a player coming onto a cut back or pass. Then they faff about with and move it again or clip it in. Get your fucking head over it and larrup it at the goal. We don't shoot enough.

Just read on Alan's news that this reached an English record ninth successive home victory in European competition – surpassing Manchester City’s mark. Nice.
Thanks Alan

Yes, just thought that compared to Benramha's usal play he was a bit better. Benramha is so annoying looks good attacking defenders, but usually does noghing decent on goal or doesn't find anyon with a pass. I'd rather see Fornals. Hope that opinion is not too distressing for some on here.

Nice balanced post easthammer 9:50 Fri Nov 10, I often wonder about what we do in training? I imagine it's too much training to defend and not enough on attacking. Our passing under pressure coming out of defense and early midfield is generally not good enough.

Benrahma had three decent chances in the first half which is more than I would expect from any replacement.

Not fond of Paqueta out wide, as that means Soucek in. I'd rather the four attacking players as they were. They are the best we have.

I thought Benrhama was a bit better last night too, despite having his confidence ruined by being the most substituted player EVER.

Moyse's 'I'm hooking you so man up and just get over it, you poof' approach might have worked ten years ago but today it's just outdated. I'm sure you'd see a different player if DM said 'Said, you are in the team and won't be substituted for the next five games however well or badly you play and after those five games all bets are off so go out and show us what you can do'.

It's basic man-management and would certainly improve him as you know there's a player in there somewhere, one who doesn't snatch at shots or dance his way up blind alleys.

You could do exactly the same thing with Pablo too.

How low is your bar if you thought Benrhama was better than usual?

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Olympiakos - Official Match Thread
I was disappointed with the game last night, but of course not the result.

I think the way we are currently playing is reminiscent of what we tried to do at the start of last season with some bad results. Trying to press higher and transition to attack more quickly (IMO) is a step in the right direction and it certainly provided results against Arsenal. It does however seem to expose some defensive frailties, particularly when losing or more frequently giving the ball away as soon as we get it. Last night it didn't cost us ( or even Costas) as the Greeks didn't manage a single shot on target unlike Brentford and no doubt Notts Forest come Sunday.

I'll resist doing what many on here choose to do which is to produce a purely reductive argument that is all Moyes' fault.

I am sure no manager instructs his players to regularly under-hit or over-hit 10-15-yard passes so that the receiver is off balance or stretching to gain control enabling the opposition a good chance of getting possession back. On other failings, Moyes and/or the coaches may be more complicit. I agree with others that aiming long balls on Bowen's head is not a way forward. Paqueta on the other hand does flick on one or two between giving the ball away cheaply, having petulant spats, showboating, and scoring a really good goal. I doubt also that Moyes' told Alvarez to get himself booked (yet again) within the first 20 minutes so as to reduce his defensive effectiveness for most of the game.

Of course, ultimately the buck stops with the jock, can he get this team of what is now mainly his picks to play consistently. Once again the clock is ticking

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Olympiakos - Official Match Thread
It wasn't the most pretty, but not bad against a difficult side and half decent defence.
Paqueta and Bowen are frustrating giving the ball away, but you have to forgive them as they do plenty of good and score the goals. Thought Emerson was too quiet on the left, he has ben mush better. To be fair thought Benrahma was a bit better than usual, a few nice shots, but agree not good enough. Aguerd and a bit Mavropanos get up well for headers, but need to get them on target.

Make no mistake were a seriously good side being wasted by a busted flush of a manager. To tell how good our under 21s are compare their results to all the other sides of the premier League in the papa Johns trophy. It's night and day . Yet he won't pick any of them .

Bell, that sums it up, players are drilled on a way to play, even when Antonio aint on the pitch. fucking nuts. It's why Haller and Scamacca didn't work. Cracks me up that Moyes is actually suggesting we are playing more open. we're playing exactly the same way we've played since he joined

Spot on mate. How many times did we lump it up to him as well, only to be flattened by a central defender. Pretty sure Bowen doesn't enjoy or want that.
